Elissa is a writer and artist in the Washington, DC, area.
She has been published in more than 75 newspapers, magazines and websites as a freelance writer specializing in travel journalism. Publications and websites include The Washington Post, Budget Travel magazine, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Independent Traveler and Cruise Critic.
In addition to her writing career, Elissa is also an artist, currently pursuing watercolor & pen and ink streetscapes. She has completed commissions for individuals, non-profit organizations, real estate agencies, private corporations and others.
Elissa studied painting and drawing at the Art League School in Alexandria, Va., and the Washington Studio School in Washington, D.C. Her figure paintings (acrylic on canvas) and streetscapes (pen and ink and watercolor on paper) have been exhibited in Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania.
